The paleo diet is very different it does not encourage you to eat foods from the 21st century but instead the food that was eaten by our ancestors and includes fresh vegetables, fruits, and lean meat.

What is Paleo Diet?
Paleo is short for Palaeolithic which is the period it dates from. The paleo diet dates from a time when people were hunters (lean meat and fish) and gatherers (fruits, nuts, and vegetables). Simply put the paleo diet takes the diet of early humans before the agricultural age. During this farming age cereals and grains were invented as was dairy created from farm animals. These early foods are actually very high in nutritional value. In particular, the new foods of today contain sugar which is a man-made substance and is the main cause of diseases like diabetes.

The paleo diet has a large following in the world of athletes. This is because it is high in protein and promotes lean muscle growth and fat loss. The main foods from this paleo diet are lean meat, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. When choosing vegetables you should choose the root vegetable type and the main reason for this is that they are mostly free from additives which are shown to be harmful to your health.

The paleo diet is low in carbohydrates and is very high in calories and this low-calorie diet is really helpful in lowering your weight. Low carbohydrates have also been shown to lower the risk of coronary diseases.  Another benefit is the naturally high levels of fiber. Fibre also has beneficial health benefits for the heart and also diabetes not to mention the fact that it aids weight loss

Also, people who suffer from allergies, skin problems, and many digestive problems will benefit from the paleo diet. His is because foods that are free from additives are encouraged. Many manmade foods contain casein and gluten which are a major cause of allergies. The paleo diet does not contain gluten-containing foods and so aids people with allergies. Lastly, because the paleo diet contains foods from before the agricultural revolution they do not contain added sugars or salt or saturated fats. These are another major cause of heart disease. So by choosing the paleo diet, you have more chance of a healthy, disease-free and lighter life.
